Montabaur Castle

History, sophisticated design and the latest technology unite at Montabaur castle – the right environment for special conferences and events.

The history of the castle dates from year 959. It was, for a long period, owned by the  archbishop of Trier (Treves). In 1970 the „Deutsche Genossenschaftskasse“ handed Montabaur Castle over to the „Academy of Raiffeisen- and People`s -Banks“; in 1972 the merger of the separate associations into The National Association of German Cooperative Banks took place, and in 1978 was the foundation of ADG which, since then, owns the historical castle.

The Montabaur Castle premises are decentralized. They comprise along with the castle, 5 guesthouses (298 rooms), 2 seminar buildings (15 seminar-, 24 meeting rooms) and various recreation- and restaurant facilities. In April 2011 a new conference center was inaugurated; it is equipped with the latest technical specifications and has capacity to host conferences with up to 350 attendees.
